Guideline on Fulfilling Service Obligations for Specialists in Traditional Persian Medicine (Persian Medicine) and Traditional Pharmacy

The "Guideline on Fulfilling Service Obligations for Specialists in Traditional Persian Medicine (Persian Medicine) and Traditional Pharmacy" was published in 2021 (date of notification: November 27, 2021) by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education of Iran. Its most important points are as follows:

Duration of Obligations:

• The duration of the service obligation for graduates with a specialized doctorate (PhD) is 2 years.

• In some cities facing a shortage of faculty members, this duration is reduced to 1 year.

Exemptions:

• Graduates ranked first to third in the specialized entrance examination.

• Top talents recognized by the National Elites Foundation.

• Combatants, freed prisoners of war, families of martyrs, and veterans.

• Specialists in clinical fields who have pursued further education in Traditional Persian Medicine.

Special Conditions:

• Part-time activity is permitted in centers not affiliated with the Ministry of Health (subject to compliance with regulations).

• Obligation to introduce oneself within 3 months after graduation.
